The Chongqing-Singapore Investment Forum, jointly organised by Baker Tilly TFW and Baker Tilly China, took place on 15 September 2017 following the recent high profile 2nd Singapore-China (Chongqing) Financial Conference. Held at the Chongqing Jinjiang Oriental hotel, the forum was centred on helping Chinese firms internationalise. The attendees comprised over 60 guests from 40 organisations, including Chinese enterprises, listcos, investment firms and government organisations.

In his presentation, Baker Tilly TFW Assurance Practice Leader Joshua Ong spoke about Singapore as a prime investment destination and how firms looking to expand overseas can leverage on the country's position as an international business hub. Tax Partner Loh Eng Kiat, who conducted a joint presentation with Baker Tilly China counterpart Yan Li, touched on the subject of tax planning for firms looking to invest via Singapore. The first half of the forum concluded with a panel discussion featuring Baker Tilly TFW Managing Partner Sim Guan Seng, who together with other expert panellists, shared insights on fundraising in Singapore.
