Siong Yoong is the Deal Advisory Partner at Baker Tilly TFW. He oversees the firm's independent strategic advisory services on B2B transactions, specifically in the areas of deal strategy, M&A, valuation, due diligence, litigation support and forensic accounting. A Chartered Accountant with nearly 20 years of corporate and consulting experience, Siong Yoong has advised government, private sector and not-for-profit clients across diverse markets and industries. Siong Yoong serves as the Singapore Accountancy Commission's (SAC) master facilitator and curriculum reviewer for the Singapore Qualification Programme's Business Valuation, and Risk and Governance modules. He is also a pioneer facilitator for the Integrated Business Solutions module and a member of ISCA's Financial Reporting Valuation Sub-Committee.

Mergers and acquisitions, specifically mid-market deals valued between US$10m and US$250m, have been on the rise in Asia-Pacific. According to Baker Tilly International’s recently released ‘Dealmakers’ report, produced in collaboration with Mergermarket, the market saw 2,405 deals worth US$163.9bn completed in 2015. This registers a whopping 71.9% increase in deal volume and 85.4% increase in deal value from 2011.
